Professional Sound Engineering and Music Technology Training

This highly comprehensive course is designed to equip students with all the theoretical knowledge and up-to-date advanced practical skills required to pursue a career in the areas of Sound Engineering or Music Production. Students have the option of studying for one year to reach Diploma level or continuing study for a second year to reach the Advanced Diploma level. In addition to the internationally recognised City & Guilds qualifications offered, the course also includes a number of recommended optional certification modules in industry standard audio and music production applications (Pro Tools and Logic Pro) These certification modules are highly regarded within the industry and will ensure that our graduates have a distinct advantage in the jobs market. These modules are offered at a substantially discounted fee to our City & Guilds students.

• Mixing and recording consoles
• Microphones and direct inject (DI) techniques
• Equalisation for music and sound industries
• Dynamics and effects equipment for music and sound industries
• Music instrument digital interface (MIDI)
• Studio sound synchronisation (film clips)
• Studio sound synchronisation (computer games)
• Acoustics and monitoring for music and sound
• Audio analysis
• Soldering and wiring (maintenance)
