This highly practical course is designed to accommodate students who are limited to part-time evening study. As with our daytime courses the units are modular allowing students to progress from a basic award to a full diploma. As such it is equally suited to the hobbyist through to the potential professional.

On successful completion students will be qualified for careers in numerous areas of the audio-media industry. Examples include: Recording studios, Rehearsal studios, Sound equipment hire companies, Music venues, Audio equipment retailers/manufacturers, Radio stations, TV stations, Outside broadcast units, Film/video production companies, Audio post production companies, CD/DVD mastering facilities, Multimedia production companies, Self employment.
Course Outline - Year 1 - Certificate
• Follow safe working practices in music and sound industries
• Occupational roles and employment in music and sound industries
• Basic equipment connections for music and sound industries
• MIDI sequencing and software
• Sound recording skills
• Digital sound editing
• MIDI and audio techniques
Awards:
• City & Guilds 7503 Level 1 certificate in Sound & Music Technology
• Optional - Avid/Digidesign Pro Tools 101/110/Apple Logic Pro 9 certification
Duration:
Sept. to June 2 evenings each week plus Sat.
Course Fees:
• €2450 Deposit on application €300 plus balance of €2150

• Audio analysis
• Soldering and wiring (maintenance)
